Man Faces Court Over Fatal Sydney Stabbing

A man has faced court for the first time accused of fatally stabbing a building manager at a central Sydney unit block.

Jawid Jawid, 41, fronted Parramatta Local Court on Saturday over the alleged murder of Mohammad Bashir Zaheer.

He did not apply for bail and it was formally refused, with his case next scheduled for a local court hearing on Wednesday.

Building manager Bashir Zaheer, 44, was found with stab wounds at Pyrmont's Mirage apartment complex on Thursday morning.

He died at the scene.

Police say the pair had engaged in an argument before Jawid Jawid allegedly stabbed Bashir Zaheer multiple times.

A knife was found nearby and police allege Jawid Jawid fled the scene and drove away in a white car.
